Jo has a special interest in upper limb and overhead sporting injuries, particularly in those athletes playing tennis and swimming. As a result of being a swimmer herself, completing her PhD, which studied shoulder injuries in swimmers, and her experience working with Olympic, Paralympic and open water swimmers and elite tennis players Jo has an extensive knowledge in treating shoulder injuries. Jo’s experience has also sparked her interest in wrist and elbow injuries and their role in shoulder injuries as part of the kinetic chain

Jo’s other area of interest is dance medicine. She has developed a strong following in the dance community across the Sunshine Coast. Jo has completed Australian Physiotherapy Association and IADAMS dance physiotherapy qualifications. Jo is involved in all aspects of dance care including injury prevention, pre-pointe and pre-full time assessments, and the management of dance specific injuries.

A firm believer that Exercise is Medicine

Lifestyle is why Jo calls the Sunshine Coast home. An avid surfer, kitesurfer and swimmer Jo chooses to give back by being involved in her local surf lifesaving club.

Jo is also a keen road cyclist, mountain biker, skier, and snowboarder.
